SENIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR / PROFESSIONAL SERVICES LEAD

This job serves two purposes; Senior Network Administrator and Professional Services. As the Sr. Network Administrator, you will have have deep and in-depth experience across a breadth of technologies, especially in and around advanced Networking (VLAN, Routing, VPN’s, SD-WAN, Failover, etc.), Windows Cloud Services (Office 365, AzureAD, PowerShell etc.) and VoIP concepts & systems, all of it.

You are where the buck stops. Peers and end users will escalate tickets to you for final resolution and your skill at systematic troubleshooting and customer relations will be the stuff of legend. Engagement with vendors for advanced troubleshooting and the ability to acquire supporting documentation and variables from both systems and customers is critical piece to success. As the Sr. Network Administrator, you, in conjunction with our operations manager, RMM Team and vCIO will design, implement, document our standardized technology stack.

As the Professional Services Lead, it will be your responsibility to deliver successful, cost effective and standardized projects to our customers. You will work in tandem with our vCIO and Design Desk to design, plan, budget and install technology solutions that align with our customers needs and our best practices. Eventually, as Professional Services Lead, all of our customers will be on a single, cohesive platform run by first & second tier technicians with minimal intervention. Your daily grind will be atypical, fluid and complex, but generally speaking half of your time will be working on projects and standards and half on escalation resolution.

Experience in the following domains are key considerations:

  • ConnectWise Automate, Manage or other PSA/RMM experience required
  • Meraki router & switch management required
  • Comfortable in the Command Line (Cisco iOS, Linux, Etc.)
  • Advanced wireless concepts and system design required
  • SAN, SCSI, high availability, clustering, load balancing & advanced virtualization experience preferred
  • Bash, Powershell, PHP & TSQL experience preferred
  • AWS and AzureAD experience desired

Outcomes:

  • Within 1 months you will have mastered our ticketing, time, expense and mileage processes and be able to execute your planned day with our in-house dispatcher.
  • Within 3 months you will have mastered our technology stack and be able to comfortably handle most of the routine tasks using that stack. Our technicians will look to you for advice and escalations.
  • Within 6 months you will have designed and implemented 3 or more successful mid to large scale projects and written 3 best practices guides.
  • By the end of the first year you will have standardized all of our clients on one product line completely.
  • By the end of the Q4, year one, you will have generated a 3:1 service revenue to margin on your time with a CSAT rate greater than 95%.

You are a leader and expected to develop other leaders. You will teach your peers how to systematically resolve issues and build their technical capacity and confidence. Documentation will be in your DNA, and our techs will moved to tears when they read your writing. Customers enjoy interacting with you and your dependable and amiable reputation will precede you. You will represent the Proper Sky brand and your personal skill and appearance will match. You will be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have worked in the Managed Services Industry for 5+ years and be intimately familiar with the business model. While technical certifications are preferred, qualified candidates will have hands-on working knowledge of all of the key aspects of small and medium business technology infrastructure including: physical and wireless networking, Microsoft/Linux technologies, backup and DR tools and automation. They will have a documented history of service leadership and be able to vocalize their commitment to delivering outstanding customer support. They will be passionate about technology, self betterment and a job well done.
